OK. We can get ‘em all out of our system. It has to be said. Who didn’t see this coming, right?
After 14 months, the couple who were once completely enamored have decided that they don’t have what it takes to continue in a marriage. Brand filed papers today in Los Angeles Superior Court, citing…wait for it…wait for it…irreconcilable differences.
I don’t mean to poke, prod or make light, but I really can’t imagine what Katy Perry, aka Katheryn Hudson, was thinking in marrying this guy. It seems she probably loved so many things about him, including the fact that for a short time, she filled him with more happiness than he had ever experienced–a happiness that was devoid of excessive drug use. Bottom line, this is just sad. The whole thing.
I’m gonna lean toward Brand and his past as the reason for the dissolution of this marriage. But then, that’s mere speculation. Regardless of the fact that Katy’s parents were too conservative in her upbringing–far too concerned about spiritual impurity infiltrating her circle of light–she was still privy to was the fact that her parents were very much in love, and that her family offered a very loving environment. No. I didn’t live in their household, but I have no doubt it has shaped her idea of what a marriage is and potentially should be.
And Brand? Well. He’s a funny guy.
It’ll be interesting to see how this affects the pop star we know as Katy Perry.
