Michael Jordan Will tie the Knot…Again

By James Sheldon on December 29th, 2011

The world’s greatest basketball player, and creator of shoe-purchase hysteria worldwide is engaged to be married. Again. After a three year courtship with the younger, Cuban-American model, Yvette Prieto, the two will be married. Jordan proposed to his girlfriend over the Christmas weekend.

Prieto is 32, so it’s not like Jordan is pulling a Jim Carrey who has scored himself a 20-something Russian student, but 32 is right around Jordan’s career ppg average, so it all seems to work. Plus, players gotta play, and the beauty, who is 16 years his junior, proves that Mike’s still got the moves, and that at any age people wanna be…Like Mike…they wanna be like Mike.

This is Jordan’s second marriage. His first spanned nearly two decades–he and his ex-wife share three children.

I’m trying to figure who scored bigger in this deal–Jordan or Prieto. I’m gonna go with Prieto. And I’m going to be very curious as to what a prenuptial agreement states. Nothing says potential failure like a prenup. Negativity aside, I wish his Royal Airness and his new fiance all the happiness in the world, and I hope they stay married for life. Or at least until he comes out of retirement again at 50 to prove he’s still got it.

No wedding date has been set, but I’m certainly hopeful for an invitation. And with any luck, I’ll get a +1.
