Ryan Braun. Poor guy.
You may have heard last week that the NL MVP tested positive for steroids. And if not steroids, then you definitely heard that he tested positive for PEDs–Performance Enhancing Drugs. Not the case. Braun actually tested positive for a substance on Major League Baseball’s Banned Substance List, and it turns out that it is a mystery medication that Braun doesn’t feel is necessarily any of the public’s business.
Can’t disagree with the man. And this just goes to show that the media will jump on anything juicy.
I’ve always liked Ryan Braun, but if he did the ‘roids, I’d be the first to toss him under the bus. He is after all, the Milwaukee Brewers golden boy. As a Cardinals fan, there’s not a team to hate more than Milwaukee at present–not when Chicago sucks as bad as they do.
All things considered, I feel for Braun. Tremendously. The guy has oozed with talent for years. It’s not like his numbers have come out of nowhere, and he certainly doesn’t profile as a PED user–that simply leaves the mystery surrounding whatever drug it is that he takes. More than likely Ryan Braun is taking something prescribed, but was lacking permission from MLB. Regardless, he’s probably stuck serving a 50 game suspension in the league led by Bozo the Bud Selig.
Kind of interested to see how this plays out.
