So to speak…
El Hombre has a decision to make.
Wow. To be supremely talented in the realm of baseball and have three offers on the table for the next 10 years of your life, all offering over 200 million dollars.
Which team will it be? Cardinals fans such as myself are probably just ready for him to choose, one way or the other. Go somewhere or stay home. Right now it’s St. Louis, Miami and a mystery squad who jumped into the mix this afternoon. My bias is undeniable, but I also believe that the Cardinals contract possessing a no-trade clause is far too good for Albert to pass up.
Miami? No no-trade. While Miami may have the best of intentions, I don’t see the new chemistry developing in a city that really doesn’t have a desire to support baseball–not in the long run. Miami just isn’t a baseball town. I see them dealing Albert inside of 6 years, and another move for the Pujols family.
The mystery team…? Speculation runs through my mind. Could it be LA? Texas? Boston? Definitely don’t believe it to be the Chicago Cubs.
I don’t wanna sound like an Ohio resident pre-The Decision, but I do think Albert is going to continue to play his ball with the St. Louis Cardinals. The chemistry is there, the team is on the rise, playing with capable veterans and developing young talent. The team promises to compete for years to come.
Which squad is going to score baseball’s marquee man? Inside sources state that a decision is likely to come as early as tonight.
