Conrad Murray Sentenced to Four Years

By James Sheldon on November 29th, 2011

Involuntary manslaughter.

The nonsense is over. Now the family of Michael Jackson can go back to pursuing civil suits and making money off of their dead, superstar cash cow.

That’s harsh and judgmental, isn’t it?

OK. Let’s go with the court of California and the jury of Dr. Murray’s peers, and agree that Dr. Conrad Murray was grossly negligent in his treatment of Michael Jackson, basically offering the aging, sleep deprived pop-star whatever he desired, whatever he demanded and whatever would allow the once-good doctor the opportunity to remain gainfully employed by the publicly appointed royal figure known as The Gloved One.

Sure. California courts. Agreed.

I certainly feel safer now that Conrad Murray is behind bars. Perhaps he’ll get out early for good behavior, but with his reputation, he’ll probably find himself with time added for supplying his fellow inmates with the good stuff. Maybe he’ll take a page from his former patient and push it as “Jesus Juice.” And I’m happy to pay for Dr. Murray’s stay in a California state prison–that’s what I hope for when I pay my CA state taxes. Not benefits for the teacher’s of my children–they can fend for themselves…those teachers. I know other tax payers feel the same way!

Let’s get these involuntary manslaughter criminals off the streets, with their killing of mentally anguished, tortured pop stars, who no doubt suffered years of emotional, mental and most likely, physical abuse.

Is it possible that Florida got it right recently in the Casey Anthony trial? What’s the point of putting her in prison to be released years later? When you’re tried in full view of the public, regardless of whatever the jury decides, two verdicts remain–court record and public opinion. Which is honestly more powerful and holds more weight?
