Tim Tebow has displaced an old favorite at the position of starting quarterback. Maybe God, is in fact, on his side.
Kyle Orton was the Bronco’s starter this year, until either a series of unfortunate events or bad play led him to a 1-4 start. That’s not a good thing for any quarterback, especially not one that was facing the glaring spotlight of the media after signing Florida’s Tebow, beloved by the Christians watching football, decried by NFL analysts for having a weak arm and few chances at being a top-contending quarterback. After they announced they’d be starting Tebow more, Orton wanted to be let go.
There was a minor debate as to where the 29-year-old would wind up, and the Bears were interested, but Orton wound up going to Kansas City to substitute for the injured Matt Cassel
But Jesus, it’s amazing how things can change so drastically from the start of this season. At the start, Tebow’s abilities were questioned, and we were assured Jay Cutler would be able to make it through a season.
The Chiefs now have Orton, and will take over the 2.5 million dollars left on his contract.
But who’s watching out for the poor Bears?
