Tim Tebow has been on some kind of roller-coaster ride related to his relation to the press. Throughout college, they loved him. After the NFL draft, they turned on his abilities. And now, people are like, ‘He’s never going to be able to sustain it!’
So now that we’re in the midst of the NFL season and Kyle Orton hasn’t been hitting his marks and they’ve brought in Tebow to clean up, and clean up he’s been doing. In the last Broncos game, Tebow managed to rally his team from behind in the fourth quarter, with a 20-yard run on the last play, in a performance that will be temporarily legendary until Tebow does something to anger the gods of Denver. But if the dude steps up to the plate and actually becomes a formidable NFL Quarterback (which everyone THINKS he can’t be), who cares that he isn’t putting up insane numbers like Cam Newton?
Tebow has something more important behind him — the power of Jesus. Have you ever seen Jesus throw a touchdown pass? No. Because he has to act through prominent figures like Tim Tebow. It’s just the way that the good Lord works.
What else will Tebow be able to do in the weeks to come? If he turns the football into a dove somehow, I’d be willing to start rooting for the Broncos permanent. People decry his passing abilities – but he’s now 4-1 as a starter.
