That’s great. Great. Now they can try to Febreeze the place, because from everything I’ve heard, it smelled terrible.
The Occupy Wall Street protest was a moment that may never come again – a protest that lasted for three straight months uninterrupted, spawning thousands of other protests around the world to turn the national discussion on wealth disparity. We have greater wealth disparity than Turkey and several South American countries that are run by dictators. That seems like a ridiculous thing that could be easily prevented, but what do I know? I’m just your typical snarky blogger.
The protestors in Zucotti Park were evicted overnight and had their belongings confiscated by the city so they could clean the park out. Which means there’s now a ruckus about whether or not they’re ever going to get their belongings back. It’s hard enough to get your things from a lost and found, much less one run by a city that doesn’t want you there. Now the protestors can stay in Zucotti Park, but not overnight. Over 200 arrests were made.
So we all may be a little more clean, but a little worse for wear. This is still an issue that needs to be discussed and not shoved to the side.
