World Series Game 6 Postponed!

There is a funk moving through Missouri. And it’s not enjoyable funk. No slap base, no wah-wah pedal. It’s a mother nature rhythmic funk. The Gateway to the West is getting a little something from the west, and because nobody enjoys playing or watching baseball while swimming and slopping through soup, MLB has postponed World Series Game 6. It has been bumped to Thursday night–same time, same place.

There is no doubting that both Rangers and Cardinals fans are itchy with anticipation, and this decision makes the respective fan bases squirm a little more–still, it’s tough to disagree with the call made by Major League Baseball’s officials. There’s no “maybe” about it…it’s going to rain there tonight, and it’s going to rain hard. And then tomorrow, it should nice by afternoon, with a chilly game time temp. Same for Friday, if Game 7 becomes necessary.

To recap. 2011 World Series Game 6 in St. Louis, MO. Postponed. It will now be played on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 8:05 EDT/7:05 local/5:05 PDT. Got it? Good.

Now. Let’s get down to brass tacks. The nit and the grit. Does this weather favor one team over the other? I’ve given up trying to understand anything about this series, but I will confidently say that if the Cardinals can take care of business at home and force a Game 7, then Chris Carpenter will more than likely take the hill on three days rest for the Cardinals, and Derek “Dutch Oven” Holland will more than likely get the nod on full rest for the Rangers. It could be one for the ages. Yet, let me not count chickens before they’ve hatched.
