Michael Jackson is still one of the most beloved entertainers the world over – a testament to how much his music was a part of our lives for decades.
And while the trial of the doctor/caretaker is still underway to determine whether or not he’s guilty of killing a man by administering a lethal dose of deadly drugs, there are concerts going on to celebrate Jackson’s contribution to popular music. The Michael Forever concert in Cardiff, Wales, drew thousands of people and featured an appearance by Jackson’s kids – Prince, Paris, and Blanket, clad in gear that resembled the most famous their dad wore.
Touching. Beyoncé and Christina Aguilera performed, Jennifer Hudson didn’t show up – and here’s hoping those kids can grow up normally. Lord knows, I’m not implying Jackson did anything to them, but the kind of intense media scrutiny they’ve been under for their entire lives can’t be a healthy thing – and considering Jackson’s state of mental health, you have to wonder what kind of things they’ve been through and exposed to in their young lives.
But it was great to see them onstage smiling and honoring their father. Rest in peace, Michael. You’ve given enough music for several lifetimes.
