Troy Polamalu is now amongst the legends, the great ones. In the crowd that people show tourists wherever they vacation to major cities. He’s now a wax sculpture.
Or at least, he pretended to be one for a day, celebrating the unveiling of his new wax figure by pranking people who came by to take their pictures with him. I will never, for the life of me understand the phenomenon of why people make wax sculptures. They could just make highly-accurate mannequins, does the fact they’re made from wax make them that much more accurate? It just makes them weirder and more prone to melt. Anyway, NFL star and notable hair-farmer Polamalu got himself almost done-up in wax for Madame Toussaud’s and local press publicized the event, so he could startle people and make the days of the football fans coming out to see him.
If you don’t know anything about Polamalu, it might surprise you to learn that he’s a soft-spoken, well-read man who enjoys building furniture and playing piano in the football offseason. It’s a lot fun to see him freak out people – so here’s hoping the Steelers can pull it together and start thrashing again this year.
