Westboro Baptist Church to Protest Steve Jobs Funeral: Announced via iPhone

By James Sheldon on October 6th, 2011

I really wonder how much longer the other extreme is going to allow this extreme to push their envelope.

Steeped in hypocrisy, as they so often are, the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas, has announced that they will protest the funeral and memorial of Steve Jobs due to the fact that he had a huge platform, yet taught sin and offered no glory to God. Don’t try to understand their statements. Seriously. There’s no point in arguing something that defies all logic and even 5 year old common sense.

Here’s what you wanna know. The Westboro haters, announced this protest via Twitter…FOR iPhone! Yes. The iPhone Twitter app. Got. To. Love. That.

I suppose every judgmental crackpot has their price, and that Steve Jobs, Apple-developed iPhone was the forbidden fruit that the members of Westboro simply could not deny. Sweet, sweet iPhone…

So. Back to my original thought. How much longer do you think this extreme will continue to push their envelope before they’re met with resistance from the other extreme?

I have no doubt that they’ll struggle to make any waves near the memorial for Steve Jobs, but it would just seem that at some point, someone is going to serve them a dose of their own medicine by protesting their weekly gatherings at 3701 W. 12th Street in Topeka, KS.

Westboro Baptist Church spreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. This is not a church, this is a hate group. This is not about protesting, freedom, or God. They are in it for the money and the press; this is a family law firm. They are not a "church." It is a scam. They go after anything that can get them in the news. This is a family of lawyers using this “god hates you” thing to make money. It is time for this scam to end.
