Delonte West Gets Job At Furniture Store

By Mark Lorenz on September 30th, 2011

Everybody’s laughing at him, but I think it’s enterprising. Preparing for unemployment can be a frightening thing, so Delonte West has done the thing a lot of people wish they could do – find a job.

Somewhere in Regency Furniture Showroom, there’s a guy who’s angry that all of his hours are going to be donated to an NBA star out of work. Will he take his revenge on David Stern? Probably not. He’ll probably just try to trash the break-room subtley. Delonte has applied and gotten a job at the Regency Furniture Showroom. Delonte West is giving other people the opportunity to feel what it’s like sitting on the bench. He’ll be lifting and arranging furniture, which I’m sure is what his teammates on the Cavs and the Celtics feel like they’re doing at times.

Doesn’t Delonte West have money stashed away? Apparently not – you could teach a basketball camp, or go back to school, or do things of that nature instead of working at a furniture store, but I guess that’s either what he or his pocket needed – to load heavy things out of trucks and into a showroom.

If this lockout goes long, we may be looking at a string of felonies, similar to what the NFL experienced.
