You might’ve caught The Expendables last year – a fusion of every action film you’ve ever known and loved, complete with the stars which made them memorable. But you might be piss-your-pants excited to know that a sequel is coming.
Somedays, I wish the 80’s never died – they’ve given us a glut of media that could’ve only happened in that decade. Everyone tried to act so forward-thinking and futuristically, which only meant that it puts the decade solidly in a box – you know when you’re watching something from the 80’s. Or listening to something from the 80’s. The Expendables brought back the good feelings all of us get when watching Sylvester Stallone punch unsuspecting people in the face. Now they’ve added more stars to their roster – Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Arnold Schwarzenneggar. So you can pretend like the 80’s never ended – they were just sleeping for twenty years, waiting for a time when masculinity ruled again.
Chuck Norris is in his 70’s. His 70’S. What’s he going to do? Kick the people trying to help him to the garden? I’m on board.
Part of me hopes Arnold’s role will just consist of him grabbing whatever wandering ass is nearby him, and punching out people who say he can’t do that. Let’s make it happen, Hollywood.
