Coastal Carolina Coach, David Bennett, is Hilarious (Watch)

Woot. Let’s role with something light after that 9/11 post.

Coach David Bennett, the head football coach for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, may now be one of my favorite coaching personalities. Rex Ryan may be slightly controversial, but he’s far to affected. Far too aware that people are expecting him to be controversial or funny. Give me some good, old-fashioned, enigmatic sincerity! Give me David Bennett.

In all fairness, if you tune into a standard Bennett press conference, it’s obvious he knows and loves the game of football. He’s calm, collected, offers a recap and some press-friendly views of what his team needs to do to improve and continue winning. However, there are those times when it helps to recant. To become a raconteur.

Coach David Bennett has that flair of analogy combined with the what-the-heck-is-he-talking-about factor. He is steeped in passion–all things must be animated. I think of people like the late Steve Irwin–their charisma simply undeniable–they just love what they do so much, they are always excited about it.

David Bennett is the reason enough to love the south. And he’s reason enough to follow the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina as they progress through the 2011 season. Enjoy the video. I know you will.
