Train Surfers in India are Insane (Watch)

When I heard “train surfing” I thought people in trains or on top of trains. We used to train surf in NYC–always best late at night when the trains were empty. No hands, feet riding the benches. Was always a fan of the N train rolling under the East River when those engineers would put the hammer down and let ‘em roll. After watching the video below, I’m a train surfing poser.

You have probably seen several variations of people running across the tops of trains. There was the Euro-craze in the 90s featuring these train surfers. A few people died, more than a few got hurt…it wasn’t a crackdown that killed the fad, more so typical phase out that occurs with any trend–think planking on Facebook.

These dudes–these “surfers”–are more the kite-boarders of train riding, preferring the outside of the train vs. the inside or top of the train…when I say outside, I mean the outer side. This is a type of surfing that won’t roll on American soil. Try it in a subway system, and beyond being illegal, you’re dead; try it on outdoor rails and it’s a felony. That having been said,
