David Letterman Threatened by Islamic Jihadist?

A holy war? Against Daaaa-viiiiid Letterman!?

I’ve never been a big fan of Dave’s show, but I certainly don’t want to kill him. I do appreciate his way of presenting an unfiltered opinion through a filtered writing process–think about it–but over the past few years, he has managed to piss of the extremes of the extremists: Sarah Palin and now some random Islamic extremist.

So. Dave has been making jokes about former al-Qaeda front men, Osama bin Laden and Muhammad Ilyas Kashmir, both of whom were taken out by American forces over the past couple of months.

An online forum dedicated to the futherance of al-Qaeda, calls for the death of Letterman for his brand of humor. Don’t call me a terrorist sympathizer, but I do agree…most of Dave’s jokes suck. But let’s not be unreasonable.

The unidentified forum user suggested the tongue of “this lowly Jew” should be cut out for the poison he spits, or has spat toward such iconic al-Qaeda leaders. You didn’t know Letterman was Jewish, did ya? Well, that’s because he’s not. He’s just another whitey from Indiana.

This disinformation is shocking and slightly disturbing, because the education that flows through all extremist organizations, both foreign and domestic, are often second to none. Well, perhaps second to a Harvard, Yale or Oxford, but no others.

Dave hasn’t offered a response to the “threat,” while the FBI investigates. I’d be willing to bet that he’ll have a few gems that are worth tuning in to see once the Ed Sullivan Theater has been scoured for the knife that would be used to cut out Letterman’s spoon licker.

Perhaps if this fella had seen pictures of Letterman from yesteryear, he would see that they have more in common.
