The Game In Trouble….For A Tweet?

By Mark Lorenz on August 14th, 2011

Usually rappers get scrutinized by the authorities for things like possession of narcotics or firearms – not for Tweeting. But this is a brave new world with new rules and new way to hold people down.

The Game is a rapper getting prepped for his fourth studio release – his last four albums have gone platinum and he’s sold in the millions of copies. But he’s gone from a rapper being championed by Dr. Dre and the G-Unit posse to being dropped from G-Unit, to watching G-Unit fade to irrelevancy, to just a dude that was a legacy of the gangster rap that was sticking around in the mid-oughties. But he’s still putting out albums and mixtapes, disses to Jay-Z, and being an all-around G.

Only during the weekend, The Game announced that he was having a search for an internship, and that everyone who wanted to apply should dial a number – a number that was linked to the Compton Police Department. The flood of calls damaged their ability to do real police work, and they’re thinking of bringing charges against the rapper.

I say, do it. Does he think he’s above the Twitter-law mandated on the internet? DOES HE?
