When you get paid millions of dollars to do something like throw a ball – you better not be so crazy that you can’t keep your body on the field.
Carlos Zambrano seems to have a problem with that. With the whole staying on the field, playing until they take you off and supporting your team. Also, not having roid rage and avoiding eating entire partitions of the baseball field. And not speaking in tongues and trying to punch the mouth with his fists and tongue. Basically, the man is either a psychotic who managed to learn how to throw a ball, or a man who went psychotic AFTER he learned how to throw a ball. Either way, it’s not acceptable.
Friday night, pitching to the Atlanta Braves, the man tried to bean Chipper Jones, gave up five home runs, and walked off the field in frustration. He then cleared out his locker and told clubhouse personnel that he was retiring.
Prior to this incident, he managed to punch out his teammate Michael Barrett. All in all, a classy situation for a guy who managed to get a 91.5 million dollar five-year contract extension.
Seriously? You walk off the field? I have no words.
