American notables, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were in action this morning at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia, to kick off the 93rd PGA Championship. The tournament continues through Sunday.
You’re probably interested in catching some action on the old HDTV, or maybe the Interwebs, huh? That’s simple enough. You can catch the action online at PGA.com. TNT is carrying the TV coverage today and tomorrow–you can catch the weekend action and chase for the championship on CBS.
At present Steve Stricker (-7) leads the field, and has looked incredibly impressive through his first round.
Tiger? He teed off on the back nine, and over his first 5 holes, he birdied three of them. If his day had ended there, he would have been atypically happy. Like life, few things go as planned, especially when all seems right. Woods is presently on his 18th green, sitting at +6. Into the clubhouse, he finished with a 77 and declined an interview with TNT. What’s to say, right?
Tiger haters are lovin’ it, no doubt, and golf fans are tired seeing him wallow in mediocrity.
The reason Tiger had so many fans wasn’t because he was a great family man–I certainly never looked at him in such a light. Watch the guy live, and even when all was right within the world of Tiger, you could tell that he was arrogant and pompous–but he certainly made some great golf shots.
Who do you have taking the major championship this weekend?
