50 Cent Is Beefing With His Label

50 Cent is realizing the fact that he’s slipping into cultural irrelevance – and it’s not a pretty thing for someone as dominant as 50 Cent to realize.

His last album sold less than 500,000 copies. You probably haven’t even heard of it. Most of the songs that he’s leaked haven’t managed to create as much buzz as even his label-mates – something that must be driving him insane. He’s making more money off of his investments than his music, unheard of eight years ago when he was carrying an entire rap posse on his back – and now he’s firing shots at Interscope. It’s so sad. That period of gangster rap in the early 2000’s has been over for a while, but the money’s kept coming, so why would he think otherwise?

50 has been trying to push his album Black Magic through to the public for quite some time, reportedly finishing 40-some-odd tracks to put on the album. Only one problem…his label doesn’t think they’re good enough. So they haven’t put it out.

50 then took to his Twitter account to threaten to leak a Dr. Dre track, the man who is responsible for all of his success. He then reneged on it.

Considering 50 threatened to retire if Kanye West sold more albums than him, then HE DID – he should hang up the mic.
