The risk is pretty high, and they’re pretty bad.
I’m not an expert on athletics, but I always thought brain injuries and the NFL went hand in hand. Like chicken and waffles. Fries and ketchup. Crazy ladies and cats.
But unbeknownst to all of us, deep in the dungeons that they call offices, the NFL has been actively trying to cover-up the fact that years of 200 plus pound men slamming into each other at high rates of speed can cause permanent damage that doesn’t heal correctly over time. Even though a layperson can probably stand on the sideline and predict that happening – they managed to pull the wool over the eyes of hundreds of players over the years. So now they’re being sued.
A group of 75 different players and their wives filed the suit, stating – “The NFL knew as early as the 1920’s of the harmful effects on a player’s brain of concussions; however, until June of 2010 they concealed these facts from coaches, trainers, players and the public.”
Riddell, the helmet manufacturer, is also a defendant in the suit. I hope the players can get as much money as they can, before the aftereffects of concussions make them forget what they’re owed.
