Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ReviewIt’s the end of a cultural phenomenon, a series that changed the publishing industry, the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, and what will certainly prove to be the new Star Trek for the notable cast members. Harry Potter is ending.

Harry Potter will always be alive in our hearts and imaginations, and most notably, a theme park where people can indulge in all the nostalgia that has been captivating the world for 13 years plus. Which brings us to the box-office. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II has smashed the record for midnight openings, taking in 43.5 million dollars in midnight screenings. It surpassed the previous midnight opening record, which  sadly belonged to The Twilight Saga : Eclipse, with 26.3 million dollars. Box office projections indicate that it won’t be strong enough to take down The Dark Knight’s 158.4 million dollar opening, but raking in 145 million wouldn’t be a bad track record for anyone. Analysts were divided, as the last installment of Harry Potter only grossed 295 million dollars domestically, which put it as the lowest earning Harry Potter film thus far…..

…but theaters were packed at midnight. Let’s see if ‘The Boy Who Lived’ can take down a superhero. It’s looking like a long shot, but if anyone is capable, it’s Potter.
