Ann Coulter has risen to prominence as a provocateur, a figure who’s willing to do the things provocateurs won’t even touch — like saying that the communist witch-hunt America underwent during the McCarthy days was completely justified, attacking the 9/11 widows, and now she’s going on her morning talk shows to promote her book ‘Demonic’, which characterizes the liberals in this country as demonic — she included a shot at the royal family. And more dead people that can’t come back and slap her.
It’s weird when you see someone rising to the occasion to make money in a way that’s normally reserved for people with personality disorders — but at this point, she’s a snake oil salesman. She doesn’t believe what she says — her entire job is just thinking of shocking things to say.
Does she have a staff to help her? It seems like she goes after the easy sacred cows — the widows of dead heroes, dead Princesses…the next step is dead children. Is there any type of organization she can attack? Is Jean-Benet Ramsey somehow politically exploitable?
God, I hope so. So we can watch this monkey dance for our dollars.
