After tweeting that he was out and about having a good time and few drinks with the boys, Ryan Dunn left a bar in West Chester, Pennsylvania, with a friend in his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3.
The West Goshen Township Police found Dunn, his male passenger and the Porsche in the woods, engulfed in flames just after 3:30 a.m. The car crashed through a guardrail and plunged into a thick growth of trees and brush. Both bodies were badly burned, and Dunn was initially identified by his facial hair and tattoos.
If you’re a fan of Jackass, you’re well aware of who Ryan Dunn was. Perhaps possessing a few screws a little too tight, or a little too loose, he was a true stuntman in every sense of the word. He loved walking the line between asininity and comedy. The chemistry between he and his West Chester buddies, like Bam Margera, who he had grown up with, was undeniable.
A police representative stated that excessive speed was more than likely a contributing factor in the accident, and that an investigation would follow to determine other factors, as well as the official accident report.
Friends who were with Dunn have reportedly stated that he didn’t seem intoxicated when he left the establishment. According to their reports, over the course of a few hours, he had three beers and three “girly” shots.
