Tracy Morgan let fly on June 3rd in Music City, and now that he’s apologizing, it’s making headlines.
His latest rant was focused toward the gay community. More so gays than lesbians, though all those with same sex preferences were more than likely highly offended–unless they were already fans of Tracy Morgan, and then they were probably going face palm, well aware that it was Tracy being Tracy.
Were his comments offensive? Well, considering it was a somewhat conservative crowd in Nashville, Tennessee, and that he stated that he would “pull out a knife and stab” his son if he ever said he was gay.
It’s a safe guess that more than the gay community were offended. Perhaps those who are vocal against child violence were also just as offended with that one.
Yeah, there were many more that aren’t worth repeating.
Morgan issued an apology today, stating “I just say stupid sh*t…” Which goes without saying. Tracy Morgan’s career is based on his random spouting of sh*t from time to time. Much of it makes little to no sense–and occasionally he catches the track of a diatribe and offends someone or everyone.
Many are questioning whether his apology is “enough.” I don’t know what else you’re supposed to do when you state that you’re wrong and apologize for something. Question the sincerity of it? Sure. That’s the way we roll. But I suppose I’ll let it lie. I don’t think Tracy Morgan is going to be “gay for a day,” or offer education to others, or take any classes, because frankly, he probably doesn’t care that much.
On to the weekend.

If Mr. Morgan has that much hatred toward the Gay & Lesbian community, maybe he should pick up a sign and join The Westboro Baptist Church. You can see their fearless leader, Fred Phelps burning in a neon pink Gay Hell on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/03/fred-phelps-and-westboro-baptist-church.html Maybe there’s room for Tracy to ride the unicorn?
