Wii U (Wii 2) Showcased at E3 2011 – New Controller Changes the Game (Watch!)

Next the Wii 2 (Wii U) was introduced. It was marketed as a new console that will serve every player.‎ That seemed to be main theme of Nintendo’s press conference. I had thought this meant that they were trying to attract “hardcore” gamers but really it was more to do with serving all of the wii players needs. The new wii allows for video conferencing,  easy photo storage, and internet use that is much like an ipad.. how did they do this? With a new controller.

The New Controller on the Wii U is ridiculous! 6.2 inch screen allows for game play even if you can’t get to your  television you can play right on the controller. It also has a touchscreen, microphone, speakers, and accelerometer. They showed a golfing game where you place the controller on the ground, and the screen shows a golf ball, use the wii golf club and hit the ball against the screen. It also allows for asymmetrical game play.

There is SO Much that can be done with this new controller – the possibilities are endless. It’s like an ipad for your Wii console.  It allows for a deeper and wider game play that is just UNMATCHABLE in terms of other consoles. It seems like other consoles are one step behind again.

Some of the titles include more “hardcore” gamer games: Darksiders II, Batman: Arkham City, Assassins Creed amd Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Online are just some of the titles coming up on the console.

    Hi Tiffany,

I am looking forward to the new Wii console because of the multiplayer functionality.

I understand that you can play multiplayer on the remote. Thats really awesome.

I hate to play multiplayer games on a single tv. It’s just… different.

Online multiplayer gaming is better, but not everyone has the possibility to use this.

I think this new feature is great just because of that.

Can’t wait to get my hands on one…
