Today, the courts vindicated the actions of a teacher that many probably wish they’d be able to undertake – the punching of a student in the face.
In a time where teacher’s salaries are slowly circling the drain, funding for the basic necessities of society like, oh, school, are being hacked away at by state budgets and the reputation of American workers has been shrinking like Rick Moranis – it might be important at times to step back and admire the courage that teachers have to possess day in and day out to corral the entitled demons of the middle class. Sometimes those demons need to be exorcised with a punch in the face – or longer school hours with no summer vacation. Since the second is incomprehensible, it helps to see the first. Sandra Hadsock came under fire for punching a teenager. Despite being a veteran for 22 years, who won TEACHER OF THE YEAR, she still caught flack. Are you kidding? The BEST way to teach somebody is, at times, a punch in the face.
If my kid is acting like an idiot, licking windows and walking menacingly towards women who are much shorter than them – for whatever reason, I hope some enterprising adult decks them. It’s much better than mitigating and coddling. Congrats to Sandra for winning the case, and ostensibly getting her livelihood back.

I'm convinced that she only won the case because she's female, if a male teacher punched a female student, no court would have vindicated him. There is such a double standard when a male and female teacher behave inappropriately. Sandra is lucky that she won the case but she needs to be careful who she punches because there are people who are not stable and completely out of control in a dangerious way. I was one of them when I was a teen. If one of my teachers had punched me back in high school, I likely have gone into a rage and start beating on them. I know without a doubt that I would defintely have scemed to destroy their life if a court let them off.

a male teacher wouldnt feel as threatened by a female student,,that idiot was twice her size and is going to spend his life thinking he can overpower women and get away with it, she didnt hit the bitch hard enough,i bet he would not be so brave with a male teacher his own size..

To Rye. If it was a larger female student, known for being violent walking menacingly towards a small male teacher who was half her size, people would still be up in arms against the teacher because its a male defending himself against a female. The double standard exists and its sad when a man can go to jail for assault for defending himself from a woman with a weapon or they could go to jail because a terrible person who happens to be female decides to lie to the police just to get them in trouble. (I've seen both of these happen.)
