Over the weekend, the moment you were all waiting for happened – the cast of Jersey Shore was shuttled out of the country, overseas to Europe.
What’s going to happen there? Ordinances have been passed, encouraging the locals not to take the tanned, zebra-clad locals out for drinking, partying or sexing, and Florence’s parliament has issued warnings for MTV not to film the cast going out and getting drunk. But their job is going out and getting drunk. Can you stop an elephant from never forgetting? It’s a futile exercise. But they’ve touched down and have a full year of speaking loudly to the locals ahead of them.
Jersey Shore has been setting records for MTV, becoming the highest rated show they’ve ever had, which says something about the times that we live in, and how bad MTV’s ratings must’ve been before. Teenagers all across the US are captivated by grown men and women whose intellectual capacities have never advanced past their own abilities, and we will be witnessing another season of tearful fighting between Ronnie and Sammi.
The new season of Jersey Shore premieres this summer, followed by spin-offs for mast of the cast members….spinoffs that have already been shot.
Priorities.
