Hines Ward, superstar WR for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and contestant on TV’s Dancing With the Stars, was rolling with a female friend last night in Los Angeles, when they were pulled over. The car they were in was owned by the female driver, but it had been reported stolen. Once the chick figured out where she parked–seriously, it was an incident with valet parking–she forgot to call in to the police department and cancel the stolen vehicle report.
Ward and the unnamed female were hancuffed and briefly detained, thought to be a potential auto thieves. The woman explained the situation and offered documented proof that she owned the vehicle. Police stated that Ward cooperated through the entire event, and offered understanding…though I have this feeling that he didn’t really enjoy having a gun drawn on him.
He was NOT arrested. No arrest. He’ll still be around for DWTS next week…
Who is mystery mama? Not Kym Johnson–Ward’s partner on DWTS–that has been verified. Whoever she is, she owes the LAPD and Hines Ward a debt of gratitude for not stating her name, and allowing all of us to know that she is a definitive example of mental deficiency. I kid. I kid. But c’mon. Who was it? Who knows? She was driving a Honda Civic…so…apparently Hines Ward digs college chicks? Environmentally conscience celebrichicks?
A lesson for all of us in this one. When driving around with an NFL star, be sure there isn’t a red flag warning attached to your vehicle.
