Do do do do d-d-dooo d0 d-d-dooo do do do dooo…
Yeah, that’s enough of the mouth trumpet.
Ladies–you got a hat? A big, ostentatious hat? Fellas–how about some seersucker fabric? It’s time to bust it out, dust it off and get ready to sip mint juleps for an afternoon of horse watching. If you’re so inclined, you can even donate some money to a horse, hoping perhaps, for a “gift” in return. We can’t bet online in the United States–legally speaking–and we all know that’s the government’s job, to dictate what you do with your hard-earned money.
The 2011 Kentucky Derby celebration has technically been underway since April 30 with the opening of Churchill Downs. There have been events throughout the week, including several races today as they get geared up for the goods on Friday and Saturday. It’s not uncommon to see the celebrities out and about in Louisville for the Derby, looking dapper and sweet, ready to watch the horses run.
Notable horses: Toby’s Corner, Mucho Macho Man, Soldat, Master of Hounds, Midnight Interlude, Uncle Mo, Nehro, Dialed In. There are many, many more. There’s a handful that might give you a shot at the main event. I think I’m gonna roll with Pants on Fire. How can I not?
If you wanna hop to Louisville for the live event, KentuckyDerby.com is your ticket hookup, and if you plan to watch from your living room, peruse a complete TV schedule of race and event coverage.
