MTV UK Makes Geordie Shore….Farreal

By Mark Lorenz on April 29th, 2011

Apparently, England has a problem with people lifting weights, tanning, and doing nothing with their lives.

Fresh off the heels of the news that Kate Middleton and Prince William are married, and Ethat ngland has a grand old work week scheduled ahead of them where they get to do absolutely nothing because people they never met are getting married, MTV has announced that they’re going to port their biggest hit ‘Jersey Shore’ over to England. They’re not even going to put in the effort needed to change the title. Henceforth, English ‘Jersey Shore’ will be known as ‘Geordie Shore’.

Denizens of Newcastle are often referred to as Geordies, and can often be found occupying the space of English humor that isn’t filled by making fun of the Welsh or people from East London. The new series boasts a lot of drinking, fighting, and screwing with people that seem less entertaining because despite Newcastle’s flaws – chances are their schools are better than ones found in, say, Staten Island. So no matter how dumb these people look, they pale in comparison to the stupidity packing by Americans.

That is something that we will always have over other countries.

Our stupidity and lack of royal weddings. This may be the first time in history an American show was ripped off by the British
