That’s right. The phone that could change the world is changing the world yet again….by being white.
It’s not easy being white, as Franklin from Arrested Development would say, and over the years the iPhone has given us limited aesthetic options. You could either have a black one and look like a member of the over-privileged, shrinking middle class, or you could have nothing at all. You’d get nothing and you’d like it. But now, you have the option of buying a gloriously white phone. A white phone with all the trims and fixings of a normal black phone.
But really, is this news? You just have another option on a color palette. It’s not that exiting. Unless someone has made an app that only comes with the white iPhone that’ll cure various diseases or better humanity in amazing ways that have heretofore been undiscovered – it’s a goddamn white phone.
The white phone had gained notoriety when it was revealed that an enterprising teenager on the east coast was manufacturing and distributing them without Apple’s permission. That teenager has probably now been smothered with Steve Job’s black turtlenecks, but we can’t be sure about it.
The 32 Gig White iPhone retails for about 299.
