For the past four years music lovers, sellers and makers have joined together and find a common ground. New releases, promotions, in store performances will be occurring worldwide tomorrow in an effort to bring YOU back to the record store and remember the good old days when you bought music in actual stores and weren’t so addicted to iTunes.
Who started Record Store Day?
Executive Director of the Music Monitor Network, Michael Kurtz co-founded record store day. The Music Monitor Network is a coalition of independent music stores. Last year over 1600 stores participated in the special day generating their largest day of sales since 1991 as well as the biggest day of sales for vinyl in history.
There are TONS of new special releases being released tomorrow – Vinyls & LPS galore – including Adele, Bad Brains, Blitzen Trapper, Bruce Springsteen, Death Cab for Cutie, Daft Punk, Green Day, Jimi Hendrix, Joan Jett, Gaga, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Phish, Floyd, R.E.M.
