Jersey Shore Cast To Be Paid 100,000 An Episode

By Mark Lorenz on April 10th, 2011

Wondering how to make more money? Be more of an idiot with no sense of self-awareness – Charlie Sheen, the people from Jersey Shore, it seems to be working for anyone with a media presence.

If you haven’t been watching Jersey Shore, you’re one of the lucky few who hasn’t witnessed America’s obsession with rewarding stupidity with money. As evidenced by Charlie Sheen’s tour, we will literally hand our money to the richest idiot in the room in the vague hope that he’ll be give us something back – only to be disappointed when he blathers endlessly about nothing in particular. It’s been a habit of ours for the last decade, rewarding people undeservedly, while professionals lose their jobs, teachers and social workers toil for little to no compensation.

Members of the core group of Jersey Shore are now going to be paid at least 100,000 dollars an episode, without factoring in commercials, licensing deals, money from syndication and reruns – they’re guaranteed to bank 1.3 million dollars for a month or two of messing around in Italy.

1.3 million dollars for getting drunk in Italy, making bad decisions, and having it live on camera. I’d say that’s a good indication that we’re starving for entertainment.
