Alec Baldwin just submitted a rumor to the blogosphere – a rumor that may force all the aspiring television writers who make up the audience of 30 Rock to hurl themselves off a building : this may be the show’s final year.
And weirdly enough, you almost anticipate that NBC’s executives will be breathing a sigh of relief. Though 30 Rock is one of their most notable properties, it has borne the brunt of low ratings since its premiere and hasn’t been able to score an upswing in viewers despite taking home the majority of hardware and awards available to shows. Emmy’s? Check. SAG Awards? Check. Enough viewers to compete with The Office? Not even close.
In a recent interview, Alec Baldwin revealed that he’ll only be remaining with the show for another year, and after that year is up – 30 Rock may go under. So Tina Fey can concentrate on writing and directing movies. And you’ll be sad to watch it go, but love to watch it leave.
On news in the Tina Fey front, the actress/writer/funnywoman extraordinaire revealed that she’s pregnant with her second child. Will Tina Fey’s kids turn out to be the funniest people on the planet?
Stay tuned.
