Where is that lady I was writing about yesterday? The one pumping Botox into her 8 year old in hopes to make her a superstar? Here’s a life lesson for you, sweetheart.
If you’re not already aware, here’s the deal:
The Bronx Zoo was playing host to a 20 inch long Egyptian Cobra, until the snake decided to bail from its quarters a few days ago–the living space just wasn’t up to standards. Seriously, coming all the way from northern Africa to stay in a glass box at the Bronx Zoo?
Since then, the Bronx Zoo Cobra has taken Manhattan by storm, and even made an appearance on Conan last night. Wasting no time in taking advantage of social networking, the Cobra took to Twitter. You can follow the adventures @BronxZoosCobra. As I write, it seems that the newest celebrity snake (how’s that for irony, this snake is actually a snake) is enjoying opening day MLB action at Yankee Stadium.
This snake is a female, and has granted one interview with the New York Times via email. In the last 72 hours, the reptile has gained over 200,000 followers on Twitter, and is in hopes that Justin Bieber would become a follower.
Back in reality, the Bronx Zoo believes that the snake is somewhere within the World of Reptiles, or whatever they call the exhibit where deadly snakes can easily escape from their cages. They believe the very young, 20 inch, pencil thin female cobra to be somewhere within the exhibit, yet are confident that she won’t emerge until she has to, which could be a number of days. She’ll probably come out of hiding whenever she feels comfortable enough to begin looking for food and water–or when she has her own NY epiphany: “This is a really nice place to visit, but I just don’t wanna live here…”
You might think such news would deter zoo visitors, but as they say…There’s no such thing as bad publicity.
