Broadway is hitting theatres with New Line’s adaptation of “Rock of Ages” and there are some HUGE stars that will be starring in it like Paul Giamatti, Alec Baldwin, Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige and possibly even Russel Brand. He states, ““I have to make sure I see me wife [Katy Perry] enough, but if we can work out the schedule, then yeah, I want to do it..”
The Broadway hit is a rock musical that incorporates classic rock from the 1980s – So everything from Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Pat Benatar and Twisted Sister. The comedic musical has already been nominated for five Tony Awards.
In an interview with Brand, he added: “Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, rock music of the ’80s — you can’t go wrong. And I’ve already got the hair. I am way ahead of them on that account.”
Alec Baldwin – maybe.. but Cruise? Really? Are we trusting Tom Cruise to not bomb a movie these days? The whole situation seems very reminiscent of Burlesque, the craptastic 2010 Chicago wannabe performance that starred Cher & Christina Aguilera. I’d be very surprised if this movie was even able to break even at the box office.
Err.. What do you think about the movie and its stars?
