George Lopez vs. Kirstie Alley: Whose Side Are You On?

There’s been a war of words between two celebrities and, no, it’s Donald Trump and Whoopi Goldberg, if that’s what you’re thinking. Today’s feud is between talk show host/comedian George Lopez and Dancing with the Stars contestant Kirstie Alley.

Both individuals made jokes that hit well below the belt but some feel as though Kirstie Alley’s response to George’s comments calling her a pig was too far but I simply disagree.

Here’s how it all went down:

Kirstie gave a fantastic performance on Monday night’s season premiere of Dancing with the Stars only to have George Lopez tear her apart afterwards comparing her to a pig.

Here’s the video of George insulting Kirstie:

The former Cheers star was understandably offended and initially fought back with this comment via Twitter:

“Don’t worry about George’s comments…just remember what happens to the big bad, drunk woolf…falls in a boiling pot of vodka.Piggy laughs”

To which George replied, also via Twitter, “I misjudged the joke. No malice was intended and I apologize to Kirstie.”

Kirstie wasn’t buying the apology and kept the feud going with this comment:

“@georgelopez I don’t need or want ur apology…I want your kidney dude..on behalf of ur X and all the women uv insulted…give it back” followed by “I don’t consider “I misjudged the joke” an apology. sorta like a husband saying”I misjudged putting my dick in a whore” …sorry hon..hehe”

After all that (and a lengthy conversation with her publicist, I’m sure), Kirstie finally decided that all was forgiven and ended the feud with this message:

“take life as lightly as u can and then move on …even u George ….u are forgiven…..:)….”

I have to say I’m on Kirstie’s side here. She did absolutely nothing to deserve those comments in the first place. It was obviously difficult for her to take the stage and perform and bullies like George Lopez can’t resist but making fat jokes? Seriously?

If he can’t take the retaliation, he shouldn’t have sparked a war of words in the first place.

Whose side are you on?

  1. I’m not a George Lopez fan, but I’m on his side. He made a bad joke, admitted he misjudged how it would go over, then apologized for it. No witty retort to her comeback, he just apologized.

Alley overreacted, and was pompous in her dismissal of his apology. She was even snappy in her revised acceptance of his apology. If she can’t take a little criticism, get out of the spotlight.

  2. Dumb Mexican, Thats George Lopez! The beaner has a kidney, but he doesn’t have a heart, or a brain, and his ACNE makes me puke! Only a dumbass beaner!

  3. Beaner should have died of kidney failure. He is not only stupid but plug ugly.

not a spoof, this is the real deal, Donald Trump is going to produce a political reality TV show for the 2012 presidential Election

  5. I don’t like Lopez much, but a comedian makes jokes. Sometimes they are offensive. Sometimes they are funny, unless it’s Lopez. Anyway, that’s part of it. I like and respect Alley, but I don’t see how she’s so thin-skinned about her weight now? She was the focus of her own show called “Fat Actress”! She’s tougher than this. Just let it roll off next time, like water off a pig’s back. Wait, that doesn’t seem right…

I really do like her, though.
