Celebrate Pi Day the Old Fashion Way.. With some Pie!

Today is March 14, 2011 which means for all you little scientists and mathematicians out there that it’s international Pi Day.

If you haven’t opened up a math book this decade, Pi is the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter.  Pi can go on forever – 3.14159265358979323846… is just some digits for you. With the use of computers, Pi has been calculated to over 1 trillion digits past the decimal.

If you’re really feeling festive and nerdy today you’ll celebrate this on March 14 at approximately 1:59 today!

For more information about Pi Day and to send out an ecard or buy a shirt or a crazy Pi clock – check out the PiDay website here! Or do what I do – and use this day as an excuse to pick up a delicious Pecan Pie!

I celebrate Pi Day every year. My friend even created a website dedicated to it piZone.org. I guess we are a little nerdy.
