Glee is a wildy, wildy inconsistent show, but it’s still managing to get a whole mess of people interested in music that they wouldn’t ordinarily hear.
But because they’re tired of ransacking the album charts with songs other people have sang – this year William McKinley High’s New Directions will be singing original songs…that have been penned by Max Martin. For those of you unfamiliar with Max Martin, he’s had 10 number one hits on the Billboard charts in the last 2 years. He writes all the music that you hear that sounds the same. He’s the reason why everything is a homogenous void of sound when you turn on the radio – and now he’s writing songs for Glee.
Firstly, Loser Like Me, bubblegum so saccharine, Wilfred Brimley should do television ads warning your earholes not to ingest it. And secondly, the power ballad Get It Right. My only complaints?
Jesus Christ, they’re having Lea Michele do most of the singing now. Does she need a song in every show? Is it in her contract? Can we not watch Heather Morris dance around and be hilarious, or do we have to deal with Rachel Berry 24/7 when the actress playing her can’t even get out of character?
