America Has Biggest Population Of Extremist Groups In History

By Mark Lorenz on February 23rd, 2011

With everyone’s focus turned to the overdue and game-changing revolutions happening presently in the Middle East and North Africa, it may be important to note that we have a bunch of extremist groups right here in America.

Like the tiny elves in trees who make delicious cookies. What if one day they decided to poison us? Our obese population would be helpless and easily slaughtered — but in all seriousness, a new study done by  the Southern Poverty Law Center has indicated that there’s been an explosion of extremist groups located right here in the US. Right here. Not overseas, here. The combination of people’s dissatisfaction with the direction of government, growing population trends and more immigrants coming into the country, and the internet have all galvanized malcontents, giving rise to more than 1,000 activist groups.

A lot of activity domestic terrorists engage in goes unreported – in January, a neo-Nazi was arrested packing a dozen homemade grenades. A man in Dearbourne, Michigan parked a car full of explosives next to a mosque, and somebody planted a bomb on a parade route in Spokane, Washington.

And the elves….oh, the elves. Not everything is peachy keen here in America. Just a happy reminder.
