Rev Theory is releasing their new album Justice tomorrow. We hit up the band and talked about some of their favorite sports teams, sports moments and athletes.
Who are Rev Theory’s Favorite Players?
Bronson Arroyo (Cincinnati Reds pitcher) – Bronson should be in a band. He’s a true rocker. One night while on tour in Cincinnati Bronson threw us a big party at his house. We all jammed 90’s rock tunes together with him and had a good ole mangle fest with about 40 people that lasted way into the morning hours. I don’t know how they played the next day because we were shot from just sitting in the stands of the ballpark. Then there are the Bronson boat parties…we’ll leave that unspoken of.
David Ross (Atlanta Brave catcher) – We’ve shared many good nights and days at the ballpark with our friend David Ross who plays for the Atlanta Braves. He’s a big rock fan and fun dude.
Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals left winger) – it was pretty cool to watch arguably the best hockey player in the world do a cover of “Hell Yeah” and make a video for it with some of his teammates.
Mike Schmidt – Phillies hall of fame 3rd baseman and Matty’s favorite baseball player of all time.
Boston Red Sox – When the Red Sox were down 3-0 in the ALCS to the Yankees and came back and the won the series 4-3.
New England Patriots– When the Patriots upset the St. Louis Rams to win their first Superbowl. This marked the start of their dynasty.
Boston Celtics – When the Celtics beat the Lakers in 2008-2009 season to win the NBA championship.
NY Yankees – much to Dave’s chagrin, Rich is a diehard Yankees fan.
Vancouver Canucks – Julien’s favorite hockey team. Robeto Luongo is a stud in the pipes and they have a great chance to win it all this year. Pavel Bure of the Vancouver Canucks penalty shot against Mike Richter of the NY Rangers in game 4 of the 94 stanley cup finals. Even though he didn’t bury it,and the Rangers went on to win the cup, it was an amazing moment etched in the back of our minds forever.
