X-Men First Class Trailer Premieres Today

If there’s something that we can use more of, it’s good comic book adaptations. We don’t have enough of them. Instead we’re saddled with Brett Ratner snatching up properties and cramming as many X-Men as he can into a single movie.

Enter Matthew Vaughn. The director previously showed his flair for superhero material by directing Kick-Ass, which made fun and shattered every previous expectation you’ve harbored against superhero movies; this was after he gave up the directing job of X-Men 3 to Brett Ratner, the hackiest man who ever decided that movies shouldn’t supercede his love of nachos. So now, Vaughn is coming around again to make X-Men : First Class. The movie tells the story of Charles Xavier and Magneto’s first conflicts and fractioning into different sides, the X-Men and the Brotherhood. The trailer was leaked today over Facebook and instantaneously, Twitter exploded. 100,000 more people signed up for the fanpage on Facebook within the first hour of the release, it became a trending topic on Twitter, and for the most part – the movie looks quality.

I can’t say anything snarky about the director of Layer Cake. Watch the trailer above, and prepare yourself for June 3. Total, how many X-Men movies have been made and are coming down the pipeline? Like, 12?
