Born This Way To Be Released Tomorrow, And Hilarious

There has been, predictably, a non-stop press barrage surrounding the release of Lady Gaga’s next single – Born This Way. To the point of near-insanity.

It makes sense, though. Gaga has lept from obscurity to one of, if not the best-selling artist of the new decade, and she’s done it in just a few years. More impressive? She’s able to wear a lobster on her head without anybody batting an eye. Selling records is one thing, wearing bedazzled lobsters enough that people think it’s a common thing for you is much MUCH more difficult.

Born This Way is going to be played on the radio for the first time tomorrow, an event likely to drive Gaga’s fanbase into a tizzy, but anyone with a sense of humor will be able to sit back and laugh at the song. Because the lyrics have been released already, and if there’s any song that’s written more sanctimoniously and with more of a god complex, I don’t know of it. Maybe ‘Little Boxes’. That’s all I can think of.

In it – a cheap remake of Christina Aguilera’s ‘Beautiful’ — Gaga calls people cholas and orientals. And in an interview with Vogue, claims the song was ‘immaculately conceived’ in ten minutes.

It’s sad when people start buying their own hype, but fun. Because it makes overblown messes.
