Reasons Why You Should Be Watching The Cape

By Mark Lorenz on February 4th, 2011

NBC has announced they’re cutting the original episode order of a show called The Cape, which is sad to anybody who watched the show – because it may be the greatest bad show to ever air on network TV.

The Cape is NBC’s latest float in the parade of failure that has been running for about two years now. Other included are Undercovers, My Own Worst Enemy, Kath & Kim, and basically the majority of shows that’ve been cancelled unceremoniously. But The Cape is different. It has every element of a terrible comic mixed with every terrible element of an NBC show. Such as.

1. Every Aeriel Shot Is Of A Different City

Seriously. Every exterior shot they do is of a different city than the fictional Palm City, California, where the show is supposed to be set.

2. The Story Is Bananas

The only superpower the hero has is a magical cape. Does this sound exciting? You’re probably living in the 1950’s. He acquired knowledge of potions from a traveling cadre of circus performers. He fights evil with a blogger who blogs EXCLUSIVELY about superheroes. And he’s dressed like a knight’s

3. The Lead Can’t Smile

Literally. It’s impossible for David Lyons to look anything less than terribly pained.

So please. If you’re looking for a show to watch next time you’re under chemically induced states, watch The Cape. Because it’s so bad, it’s deliriously good.
