Imagine my shock when I sat down to watch the latest installment of the Daily Show and was greeted with the smiling face of America’s smuggest new teen heartthrob.

Justin Bieber is promoting his latest movie Never Say Never, about how he overcame the odds stacked against him as a child star to become a YouTube sensation, and then usurping the Jonas Brothers as the latest in an array of media-sponsored robot children to release robot-songs that appeal to other robot children. Have you ever stopped to think about it? His parents forced him to sing on the streets of Canada. That’s not exactly good parenting…but it has a happy ending because he got balls-to-the-wall famous? Come on. If Bieber weren’t famous, his parents would be basically pushing him to be a street urchin. And now he’s on The Daily Show. And in movie theaters.

He swapped bodies with Jon Stewart for a temporary sketch that is waaaaaay out of place for Comedy Central’s main demographic – none of them are 12-year-old girls. At least that I know of.

But Viacom owns Comedy Central, so there’s bound to be some odd corporate crossovers happening. Or body switching.

Jon Stewart, you’re a good sport.
