It’s going to be the hottest gadget available this holiday season – Sony has teased up a preview of their new PSP2, under the codename of NGP.
Why should you care? The PSP was the most technically adept portable gaming system – only to have the hardware bested by Nintendo’s playability and game selection. But it could play DVD’s, PSP games, worked as a media drive – yet nobody cared. They were all too busy fiddling with the latest incarnation of Pokémon. The new PSP throws the switch to eleven with tech features that are enough to whet your appetite from now until December.
Like what?
A 5-inch OLED touchscreen, dual analog sticks, front/rear cameras, a touch-sensitive panel, a quad-core ARM Cortex A9 processor, and a quad-core PowerVR SGX534MP4 + GPU. Additionally, it has 3G, Bluetooth, and a GPS, and Sony is claiming, CLAIMING that it’s as powerful as a PS3. Which is insane. NGP stands for Next Generation Portable, which, if this thing can beat the pants of the 3DS, it very well may be.
Remember old black and white Gameboys? Yeah. We’re going to look like insane people when we talk about those to our children. The PSP2 will be available for the holidays in 2011.

3G isn't that new. But 4G, which is the next new thing, is new and is only in testing or in early stages with its roll out in most countries. So they would of though not to bother as it'd just make this thing cost even more then it already will. Apparently they aren't even having 3G in all consoles. They've said things will come down to how negotiations with ISPs go in some countries and how their 3G network is.
