Fifty Cent Claims He Brought Down WorldStarHipHop

By Mark Lorenz on January 24th, 2011

50 Cent really needs to stop plotting like he’s some kind of supervillain, learn a few more new words and go back to the studio to cut an album. Because the dude’s getting bored.

You can tell by the way he’s constantly fishing for publicity. Between releasing songs every few months that never get much traction, feuding with figures like Rick Ross, and trying to date Chelsea “I only ride old men” Handler, Fifty’s been trying to stay relevant since, well, 2003. When he last was relevant. His latest claim to fame, other than starring in direct-to-DVD movies is spreading the rumor that he shut down WorldStarHiphop.com, a site that’s dedicated to bringing you the best in ripped YouTube videos – provided they’re related to hip hop and covered in advertising links. They’ve apparently also used Fifty’s likeness, a fact that he takes umbrage to – and according to his Twitter account, he sicced his lawyers on the site and the site’s owners.

Only one problem. According to WorldStarHipHop’s owner, they were updating themselves to larger servers to handle an increased flow of traffic that has been coming in. Which happens fairly regularly.

So Fifty is trolling websites, claiming responsibility for them when they go do. Get rich and die bored, I guess.
