Will Smith To Remake Annie And Cast His Daughter

By Mark Lorenz on January 21st, 2011

Will Smith might as well go around to every town in America, and punch everyone who’s unemployed in the face. Right in the face. And then burn their houses down, because his kids keep getting work in the most unnecessary remakes in the world.

I didn’t see The Karate Kid. I didn’t need to. I’ve seen Jaden Smith act and suffice to say if they brought back Richard Nixon from the dead to tear my eyes out and emasculate me – it’d still be more enjoyable than The Karate Kid. Because he didn’t do Karate, he did Kung Fu – they kept the karate name so Middle America would go nuts over their memories of Danielson and Mr. Miyagi without having to do much marketing work.

And now Smith is going to try to do the same thing with his daughter, casting her in a remake of Annie and collaborating with Jay-Z. Willow Smith is signed to Jay’s Rocafella label, who released her hit ‘Whip My Hair’ that managed to score an 11 spot on the Billboard charts.

But still – you can try to buy your kids a career, but it’ll only damage them in the long run. If you had Will Smith money, you could buy your kids an island – and it’d probably damage them way less. Annie doesn’t need to be remade.

And if it DOES, come on. It’s hard enough for gingers to find decent jobs without Willow Smith snatching them up like so many weaves.
